Like the night sky, distributed systems are vastly more complex than what meets the eye. We founded Vortella with a singular focus: Enable enterprise IT operators to identify unseen connections amid the billions of events that occur every day. But our story doesn’t stop there. With recent advancements in machine learning, we're automating contextual understanding to predict and avert issues before they even happen.
Vorstella was founded in 2016 by Matt Stump and Avinash Mandava. Matt and Avinash previously collaborated on some of the world’s largest distributed system deployments, helping Fortune 500 clients such as Netflix, Walmart and Sony operationalize their data infrastructure plans. In their roles as technologists and DevOps operators, Matt and Avinash discovered they could save time and money — with lower risk and effort — by building intelligent, purpose-built software. Vorstella took shape shortly thereafter.
As a leading expert in distributed systems, Matt has architected and supported some of the largest deployments in existence. He has contributed significant functionality to a number of popular open source projects including Kubernetes, Apache Cassandra, and Apache Spark.
Avinash has a deep passion for cutting-edge technology, and has spent his whole career working with organizations from startups to massive companies that want to create a competitive advantage from adopting new technologies. Avinash completed his undergraduate studies at The University of Chicago.
